Shifts in Education
Some big players in Education are testing new ways to reach students, and probably make money.
I’ve been actively interested in the Stanford online free courses, launched for Computer Science.
They had a tremendous start with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence with tens of thousands of students attending.
Unfortunately there are some problems at Stanford and one professor left starting his own online education company: http://www.udacity.com/
Anyway, this post was triggered by the news that “the first employee hired by Google co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page, will leave the search giant for Khan Academy, an online education portal based in Mountain View, Calif.”
This is the future my friends, on-line education.
